“Produces clean power to safely operate and prevent damage to sensitive electronics such as smart phones, tablets, televisions and computers”

Is it pure sine wave or modified. Why the cryptic description?

I enjoy the picture of a guy using a 2000W generator to charge his phone.

From the Amazon product page:

Designed to mirror a pure sine wave, this generator limits total harmonic distortion to under 0.3 percent at no load and under 1.2 percent at full load, making it safe enough to run laptops, cellphones, monitors, tablets and other vulnerable electronics.

I bought this last time around and I can attest that this is a nice generator. If this meets your power requirements and you need a generator, BUY THIS. It utilizes the same engine as the YAMAHA EF200is and is just as quiet. Sure its not a HONDA EU2000i but its also not $900. The reviews on this are stellar, I have yet to see any real negatives. Press the button and enjoy the unit, BTW has 2 year warranty. Make SURE you put oil in it, it does NOT come with any oil in it or in the box. Get yourself a quart of oil too be ready. Also do a break in period. Running at regular speed put a load on it, like a hair dryer or something that draws about 500-1000 watts. Let run for an hour or so. Power down generator for a while then run it again. Enjoy.

I understand adding the oil to this(which it does not come with) is close to impossible. Does anyone have any comments about this. I have read many reviews which complain and even have returned these generators due to this issue.

I understand the oil is VERY difficult to put into it. Please describe this because so many people have complained about this design flaw in this generator.

Is this a TRUE 2000 watt or is it ONLY 2000 watt peak? I understand it is not as strong as the 2000 watt.

A quick google of “Wen 2000W Inverter Generator” leads to a youtube link that shows the oh so difficult task of removing 3 screws on the side panel to add oil to the unit. The oil fill is the exact same as the Honda generator with the exception of how the side panel comes off. Its very simple really.

Regarding the comment about the output wattage, 2000W is the peak power output, this is a surge rating only. As with nearly all generators, the advertised wattage is the surge rating, typically called out for motor starting when you have an initial heavy load. The actual rated running watts are around 1600W. I have read some reviews in the past where people are in the 1500-1600W range in reality. YMMV

I bought 2 last time they were offered, as well as a Wen parallel kit, so I can get 3600W peak to my home transfer switch. It’s an excellent little generator.

Oil is easy to add to this generator. Just use a funnel and no issues.

You should hear it bog down when you get a call on the phone.
