Pros: Picture quality at 1080p is outstanding, good number of inputs, great as a computer monitor and a display for PS3/Xbox 360, 1080p upconverting DVD players, Blu-Ray disc players, and HD DVD disc players.
Cons: A large number of LVM-37w3se’s were sent out with faulty EDIDs (memory chips that identify what resolutions and timings the monitor is capable of). This has the potential to render your 1080p devices incapable of outputting 1080p, nullifying the main advantage of this monitor. There’s no guarantee you won’t get one of these faulty monitors from NewEgg and have to ship it to Westinghouse out of your own pocket to fix it. For more info on the EDID problem Google “LVM-37w3se EDID”.
Below average deinterlacer and scaler make this a poor choice for any device that does not send a 1080p signal, such as standard def game consoles, satellite/cable boxes with mixed 480i/720p/1080i outputs, and standard def DVD players. Also only one each of HDMI and DVI inputs, and no optical/digital audio out.
Other Thoughts: Great value for 1080p sources, mediocre for everything else, and pray you don’t get one with a faulty EDID.
