Same here. We had party lines. Grandmother had a Garland wood cookstove. I learned how to cook and bake on that, feed the fire, move burner rings etc. At our house we had electric! Fancy.
Mom was a bit of an idiot, or thought we were. She constantly was on us about getting burned. Really? And people wonder were my sarcasm developed.

But I was chastised publicly a couple of years ago by an uber techie guru who reminded me that a smartphone is a computer.
I always knew it was and even use it as a talking point to teach people who are afraid to use a desktop but it slipped my mind while I was answering yet another poll somewhere else.
Tell me which one of you I should believe?
Technically itās a computer as it can do everything a laptop does.
But if we want mental peace it isnāt, imagine companies asking you to work on phone⦠pfft!!!
But that is precisely what is expected of me. I am an outlier among outliers.
Now that I think about it, I remember Bill Gates saying that someday we wouldnāt use computers; Iām just doing my part.
