whatcha eatin? II

Yep. We are weird. And apparently like carbs too.
Grilled leftover spaghetti sandwiches…

A fig newton.

Blackberries with Almond Milk

Homemade spaghetti & meatballs.

Wow, never seen spaghetti sandwiches before;)

Pita and cream cheese.
Blackberry lemonade and iced tea.

Girl Scout shortbread cookies dipped in coffee

Brussels sprouts

How do you prepare them?

cklun: yuck!

I love them roasted in the oven with just a bit of olive oil.

This particular lunch involved putting a bag in the microwave. Lightly sauced (meaning some kind of butter), sea salt and cracked pepper.

If I’m fixing them from scratch, I just found (and made) a recipe where you halve them, add six slices of bacon cut into bite-size pieces (I used bacon bits), 1/2 diced onion, salt and pepper. Fry the bacon, put the rest in the pan and fry. But I always have a small container of bacon grease in the freezer and I fried them in that since I used bacon bits. YUM

And a sprinkling of Penzey’s Northwoods Fire seasoning.

Tonight’s dinner courtesy of Trader Joe’s:

Breaded Cod filets
Scallion Pancakes

Made my own tartar sauce from mayo and pickle relish.

The best tarter sauce is Frisch’s Big Boy’s if you have one near you. We’ve been known to take a jar with us to various fish frys.

Spicy ramen because I’m getting sick

Cuties/Halos, whatever they’re called.

I have never heard of these, what are they?

I’m fascinated!!

Basically mandarin oranges.

Ahaaa, neat.

For some reason it sounds like a baked good kind of dessert.

They’re good, but not that good.

I think they are wonderful in salads. Some nice baby spinach, a little grated cheese and some walnut pieces. Some balsamic and you’re set.

I just had some plain greek yogurt w/ local berries and peaches I froze fresh last summer. A dash of cinnamon and a handful of muesli and viola` !
