Skyline chili
Chicken leg quarters (bone in, skin on) in cast iron skillet and basted with Saucy Susan. (Too hungry to get carried away with an actual recipe right now.)
Again too hungry to get fancy: chicken with jalapeno mayo and a soupçon of Hunt’s unadulterated ketchup.
Last night’s wings from Nomad:Za’atar Chicken Wings wings grilled in our citrusy mediterranean rub and drizzled
with lemon and honey, served with a side of labneh which is tangy middle eastern
spread for dipping
They were meh, inconsistent with char, some were dry.
Tonight turkey club and coconut cheesecake. The club was fine. The cheesecake is really good!
Chicken looks great! Jalepeno mayo sounds yummy!
I snagged it last month on Woot. ![]()
[Addendum– Errata: Actually, while I was waking up I realized it was probably not Woot but rather a targeted popup ad based on recipes I’d been browsing. I ordered it. A week later the price dropped by 50%. A push-pull thing.]
And now that I pull up the ad for you I see that it was mustard, not mayo.**
**I tried to add a sub-asterisk for an additional afterthought but it turned everything into italics so I made a double asterisk. Not sure if that was necessary, but anyway, it occurred to me it wouldn’t have been mayo because I wouldn’t have ordered it if it’d been mayo – not as intriguing as jalapeno mustard
A local store had smoked turkey thighs. They didn’t taste like turkey but whatever it was was pretty good.
My friend was just telling me about smoked turkey tails. I had never heard of it, but she says it’s amazing and makes all kinds of things flavorful.
