Smoke detector battery thats going off and you can’t get it to shut off.
Last week I had that at a late hour and ended up sticking it in a bag of christmas wrapping stuff and closing it up in the bedroom on another floor at the other end of the house
Worked ok, but before we added on our first floor bedroom I would have been SOOL.
Finding the damn thing is just the first step

Neverstarts. Whenever someone comes into the shop with one of these and the engine won’t spin, I don’t care if it’s three months old, I’d almost bet the shop that the battery is bad.

Worse than a smoke detector battery in your house at 3AM is the one in the motel room you’re staying in for the night. Happened to us a few years ago but we didn’t want to have someone come in with our (at the time) toddler who it didn’t really wake up so we just dealt with the parental lack of sleep.

Are smoke detectors the last devices to use 9-volt batteries? I smell a conspiracy between the 9-volt battery industrial complex and smoke detector manufacturers!
