That is because Contactless payment of any kind including tap and pay credit cards is universally called “Apple Pay” as if Apple invented that payment system and that is the only thing people use.

I’ve had to fight certain banks more than others. The current ones I use are quite good. I once had one try to insist I was making about $800 of purchases a few towns over, while they had records of me using the same card near home (this was not internet related). I kept having to push back, the charges would go away and reappear, I had to sign pieces of paper swearing I wasn’t in two places at the same time. Finally made it go away and then I stopped doing business with that bank.
