World’s largest mailbox is in Casey, IL. It’s so big, you have to take stairs to get to the top, and you mail the letter from inside the mailbox. Casey, IL also has the biggest rocking chair, wind chimes, and several other oddities. Picture from a Google search, I can’t find my pictures.

At the end of the driveway. Crazy set-up in our neighborhood. Only two streets and dead ended. Our street is all “at the end of the driveway” delivery. The other street is “door-to-door” delivery.

They are all in a big group at the entrance of the Neighborhood there are up sides of living in a private Neighborhood, but that is a downside. Packages that don’t fit get delivered to the house so that is nice.

I kinda have 2: house was built with a slot into the den/office, and didn’t really work with today’s oversized envelopes or mailers, so I bought a nice large wall-mounted, locking mailbox (with a slot) & asked my idiot brother-in-law to mount it over the slot (meaning to cover the slot with the body of the new box.)
He installed it above the slot and lost the key.
Until I covered that original slot completely with Gorilla Tape (masking, packing, or duct were not enough) I would find stuff (fliers & notes & even actual mail) in that slot.
Why didn’t I have BiL correct it? Because of the holes he’d made in the siding. If there’s a right way, a wrong way, or a most annoying & destructive way to complete something, he seemed to default to the latter.
I’ll sell & move & let it be the new owners’ project.

Reminds me of my childhood home with a bulit-in mailbox slit on the wall by the garage door. Our cat loved to sleep in the wooden box where the mail landed into. The garage had her hiding spots and the sun would warm up the mail box. Occasionally she’d stick her paws out saying hello to the mail carrier or us.
