not a bad unit for the price. I find that a built in unit works better for the car though. If you need one, it is worth the money.

agreed, Mio C310x is better and cheaper. You can do a lot with it. Make it into a PDA for instance… and it is only $200, sometimes on sale cheaper than that.

Can you download maps of Europe? I need one for Italy, Germany and Holland, not for the US.
not really, their radars aren’t that great. escort, valentine, beltronics, are all muuuuch better.

Can the maps be updated? Can the SD card be used to update the unit? If not, how current is the data?
Considering the increasing number of GPS offerings with better features (mapping and GPS chipsets for better and faster satellite reception, I’m not so sure about this one…
Is this really a good deal, especially considering the long run?
Buyers should be happy with the answers to these questions:
What kind of chipset is in this? SIRF III would be nice.
Which company supplies the maps? NAVTEQ would be nice.
When were the maps last updated? 2007 would be nice.
Can the maps be easily updated anywhere?
I am not to sure about Mio, recently a freind & I where advised by a salesman not to go for mio’s as they have a lot of complaints & returns. The guy was a buddy so risking his job telling us this.
I am real happy with my Garmin unit… I will recomend only known brands

I have not been able to get my M-202 to work with anything. How about yours? I’ve tried on four different computers. Set up seems correct but no transmission.
can this be used to locate my car if it is stolen??? also can anyone tell me how this product compares to the tom tom??? Im a female who travels alone alot, and something like this would be perfect.
Good deal, especially with the included 1GB SD card. You should be able to fit the entire Continental US on that card, and still have some room to spare for saved routes and waypoints.

- WAAS (Wide Area Augmented System ) enabled - Provides more accuracy in coastal locations ??? It’s news to me that WAAS only improves accuracy along coasts - it improves it anywhere the 3 new satellites providing the signal can transmit to. It’s a correction code sent on a signal.
- O.1 m/s is like 2.2 mph - so the accuracy of the unit is when you’re standing still or crawling on the freeway…

It’s about $100 under the going rate at most discounted sites i.e. Tigerdirect, Beach Audio etc. If I was looking for one I would give it a whirl, my new car will have Nav so I don’t need it or would be purchasing it. Good luck and Enjoy!
