Why is there no search engine??

How do you go about finding certain brand name items with no search dialogue box? I don’t know how to find anything here and don’t have the time scroll through thousands of items.

You can search the forums and sort by latest topic or try a 3rd party search.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

Woot business model is that those of us with the kind of time to figure out and do rather non-standard surprising search techniques also buy lots of other stuff we stumble upon during the hunt.

We feel your pain. This is probably the #1 complaint about Woot.

Try www.WootPlus.com

The site has valuable tools that Woot doesn’t want to spend money on.

Good luck.

Searching the forums works pretty well. I use this approach all the time. You can pretty much find what you are looking for using this approach but definitely be sure to sort results so the latest posts show first because the older the post is, the more likely the item is sold out.

Also I find it best to search for the brand of item if you are looking for something specific. For example - search for “Dyson” vs “vacuum”. Reason being there can be a lot of items returned if the search is based on a broad category vs using a specific keyword.

Is it direct? No. Does it work well enough? I think so. It’s definitely better than scrolling through categories which can take a long time and you may even miss the item.

Your ongoing endorsement is much appreciated, thank you!

Over the past year or so, unique daily visitors have risen from ~30-40 to 200+, in large part due to folks like yourself raising awareness about wootplus.com through this forum. (It’s getting some traction from search engines as well, though not all that much. Probably due to a general shortage of backlinks.)

I’m open to suggestions on how to promote the site and get more eyes on it. With enough daily visitors there’s a chance that I could enter the affiliate program and start actually making a buck off this thing – enough to pay for upkeep, anyway.

Why isn’t there a search function? I mean, this is a tech gadget site and I can’t search for a product?
