Yes it makes your wifi air cleaner thereby extending the reach of the signal.

The app is useless, I couldn’t even get past the sign up process. I bought mine at Costco and their reviews are full of people having many different issues with the app. Unit still functions fine, just no WiFi aspect.

Smart home products are security risks anyway, they last much longer than wifi generations.

Will this add more G or B to my WiFI or just with the circulation of it?

Bought refurb here a few years ago. Works well. Quiet. Third party filters are fine. Never bothered with the app.

I have bought several from Woot over the years. App had worked fine on Android. used it to set them up then removed the app. Great integration with Home Assistant, the one in my office turns on whenever I have my hue lights on. Agree that third party/generic filters work fine… love these things!

i have two i bought here and can also confirm they’re great, quiet & very efficient.

third party filters work fine.

the added bonus of being able to turn the light red by farting near it is a fun party trick too.

Can it filter spam too?

I noticed a couple of people saying they purchased a few here on Woot. My question is were they recondition when you purchase them especially the people that have had it for a few years and our bragging about it cause I’m thinking about getting a recondition on myself. Is it a good purchase?

No thanks. Not sure how WiFi can purify air but sounds a little too celestial for me. I’ll stick to my paper air filters.

Your air is made out of paper?

According to Amazon doesn’t meet California Air Cleaner Regulations. I think that means it makes too much ozone.

The app is fine. Sometimes it’s the device you are using to set it up with (phone). I tried to set mine up the first time on a Ulefone. Could not get the WiFi connection (phone to Air Purifier) to advance past the screen where it lets you select the WiFi signal you want to connect to. I then did it on my Samsung tablet and it worked just fine. I have TWO of these and first time I used my Samsung phone, it worked fine. Later on when I needed to change my wifi router, I had to set it back up, again, used a Ulefone. Didn’t work. Had to use my Samsung tablet.

But once you get them set up, you shouldn’t have to touch them again unless you change the password to your WiFi. And as far as a security risk? The biggest rist is on the other side of the keyboard. Anyone who uses any kind of IOT devices in their home is risking it, but, most modern routers allow you to set up multiple SSID’s. Set one up for IOT devices, secure it’s access to INTERNET ONLY (no intranet access) and restrict it’s data flow/speed to low, and only allow X number of devices. If you have 4 devices, only allow 4 devices. Lots of basic network security 101 videos out there so people shouldn’t “knock” a IOT device, like this, when they haven’t taken the time for basic security.

These are nice little gems. I’ve got 2 and thinking of getting a backup. I have one, that’s 4 years old makes a little hum noise when on low blow. Stock up on filters and if it’s for stinky places, swap out that carbon filter monthly.

Cheers

I bought mine refurbished a little over three years ago. I use it three seasons in my bedroom, turning it off only when it’s time to start opening windows in summer. It still works great! I’ve never tried to install the app since I really don’t need it for my use, so can’t comment on that. I use third-party filters and they work fine.

Not really sure what other feedback you are looking for. If you are already in the market for air purifiers im assuming you have some idea of the functions and price range in the wild. They do work though smart function can be hit or miss, I’ve been using the app for 4yrs since i got 4 of these refurbish. I placed them strategically on heavy traffic areas and the amount of dust and dog hair it traps even on low setting is a constant reminder that it’s well worth the price. It is so good that when I saw new ones at Costco at $120 each I was tempted to pick up few more.
But as with anything others will have different opinions. Is it super quiet? I’ll say that only on low settings and can still be heard from 6ft away. If you are concerned with the noise during sleep thats where the smart function comes in handy. Personally, ive had few that randomly disconnect from wifi and wouldn’t reconnect but after few app updates it connected again after deleting and reconnecting the device.

The app works just fine on Android (don’t know when thry fixed it). Originally, it did not and I don’t know if it was related to being 2.4 Ghz and my router on 5 Ghz. I bought this new from Costco 2 years ago. The bummer part is I probably threw away the first HEPA filter much too soon. Without the app to tell me how much life it had left. I used to use Alexa to turn it on and off. It does a great job cleaning the air to help control my allergies. I have to frequently vacuum the prefilter and I change the charcoal filter every 4 to 6 months. On high I can barely hear it. It is a really good air cleaner compared to many in this price range.

Hello, the wifi may not clean the air, but our 4-stage filtration of a fine mesh pre-filter, carbon filter sheets, True HEPA and PlasmaWave sure will! This unit is great to capture hair, dander, smoke particles, VOCs and more!

It does not do well filtering spam. Mine stopped working when I tried it.
