I bought these back in Feb from AMZ, they were defective and the manufacturer said their warranty only applies if it was purchased directly from them.

I don’t doubt they gave you the runaround, but according to their warranty terms, purchasing from them only applies to the 90-day money back guarantee if you don’t like it for any reason.
