how do they guarantee 8-month battery life and auto connectivity to phone?

The 8 month battery life is because their Activite watches use a standard button cell watch battery. I’ve had an Activite Steel since it first came out, and have only changed the battery once so far.

Not sure, I rarely manually sync it. It syncs automatically a couple of times a day on its own.

I’m guessing that 3rd party seller just lowered their price to be competitive. It was that price earlier.
