My lefty kid also mouses with his right hand. I think you can program the buttons on some of them to make them friendlier for lefties.
I became a lefty mouser 'cause my old desk at home, the chair was on the right side. Since I didn’t want to constantly move the keyboard and mouse to mouse righty, I just left the mouse on the left side.
Which amusingly seems to irritate everyone else. My big bro had to completely rearrange things to use the mouse righty (this was pre-laptop era). Even at work, if IT or a coworker needs to use my computer, they move the mouse to the right side.
It’s also way more convenient to mouse lefty if you write righty.

I learned to trackball and many of them are centered so that either -handed can utilize.
