Woot-0ff on wednesday = not a good idea...

#1

First, none of the items in this woot-off have been earth shaking, so I know I wasn’t missing much. But, some of us have meetings, etc., to attend. So we miss an item or two. Having woot-offs on Friday was a bit more logical, since some people miss work on Friday anways.

Look, honestly, do you think a woot-off on Wednesday was a good idea? I mean, specially now that you have woots on weekends, don’t you think it would have been more fun for all parties involved if this woot-off would have been in a day where more people are at home and in front of their computers, ready to buy more geeky goodness?

Just a thought. :slight_smile:

I just have one argument to make and that is, Sometimes items will be put in the woot-off that won’t necessarilly sell in the short amount of time that the majority of items do. For instance as I type this there is an InFocus 4805 that isn’t moving at all, and yesterday there were some Audiovox 2 way radios that were on there the better part of the day. My 2 cents is that there are items that will stay up for an extended amount of time but don’t dog a woot-off on Wednesday, you never know it maybe will be lasing into Friday. That is the beauty of a Woot-off you’ll never know.

They probably were hoping for the reduced traffic a week-day woot-off would provide. That way, they could see how the servers responded without having all 150,000 woot members active during the entire woot-off, as they would have on a weekend woot-off. Just a thought.

I apologize for invading your forum up front, but feel this is worth while and will only take 15 seconds away from a chat.

Give the Gift of Site

Please donate any used pair of prescription glasses to help both children and adults that cannot afford clear vision, to see for the first time.

Not asking for money, just one pair (or as many as you can find laying around [h] ) to help people that cannot afford to see.

I will post pictures and stories from the Sonora, MX mission I will be on in September off site to show you what your contributions meant to the people in need.

Please send them to;

Luxottica Retail
Attn: Woody1
4000 Luxottica Place
Mason, OH 45040

I appreciate woot for allowing this to post, and the person with the most pairs sent in by Sept 12th, (nudge factor coming, and send them all together please, so they can be counted) will get a package worth over $500 including a new Home Toshiba DVD Recorder and Dell 5.1 speaker set. This comes out of my pocket; this is just one of many, and I do mean many, charities I try to support.
