D’oh. I hoped I had edited that in time…I knew no1 was going to use the “duh.”
I guess it’s because my first exposure to the name Josephus was the historian, and my professor in college pronounced it Joe-See-fus, so that’s how I thought of it when I saw it here.
Mr. Sephus is like Smeagol-- he speaks of himselves as more than ones personseses.

Dr. Seefus,
Reply #1: It’s what Ms. Duh sees first, not what’s historically first.

Well, hit me with an ugly stick. I’m a doofus again.

Mr. Doofus,
I would like to respectfully request that you go back to calling me Ms. Dee, and not Ms. Duh. Thank you.
Sincerely,
JoeDeeDee
‘woot’ like ‘shoot’
‘Josephus’ like ‘Throatwobbler mangrove’
‘no1’ like ‘NUMBER ONE’, BABY
‘PemberDucky’ like ‘Pimburr Duckee UmptEE’
(I just learned the correct way to pronounce PemberDucky)
And remember, the 7 is silent.
When I see “tallworm” post, I say “Tall 4 a Worm” in my mind. Don’t know why.

I think I’m just going to call everyone “Joe.”
well, but Josephus predates Joseph by , like, 1000 years.
It could even be Hozeyfus.
A thousand years??? You are older than I thought!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay older!
Dr. Seefus,

Reply #2: Really? I thought you were born Joseph, then added the “us” later.
Reply #3: Really? I thought you were born Joseph, and, judging by the concerts about which you reminisce, I would have thought they were contemporaneous.
I was born Josuf, correct.
That turned to Joe, immediately, and sometimes Joey, but my dad made the warp jump to JoSeeFus on his own with no warning, just started calling me that. They never called me Josuf. ever.
Hey, my oldest 2 brothers went to the Beatles last concert in Indianapolis when I was pretty small- 8 or nine, I guess. That is probably the first concert I remember anything about. I never went to another one until I went to college.
Oh, and I found out years ago that my dad is always right.
The older I get, the righter he gets. He’s about perfect now!

So let me make sure I’ve got this: It’s Joemuckenfuss?

(Mark Twain quotations - Father )"]When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

With a name like Joemuckenfuss, he’s got to be good.

I even have a copy of “Josephus,” written about 2,000 years ago. My book is a newer copy, however.
No1, I was shocked to realize you pronounce your name “no one.” Shocked. I have always read it “number one.” I guess you will always be “number one” to me, even though it isn’t correct.

Ms. 10Bkeeper,
You obviously haven’t seen my occasional posts in the “silence” thread.

I think it should be spelled out Tteenneesseebbeekkeeppeerr. Lots of e’s and doubled letters.

You are correct, I haven’t.
