So, I didn’t see a special Dealmageddon thread. Is there a special Dealmageddon thread? Is there anything special happening with Dealmageddon, or are all the Dealmageddon deals posted (and that’s it)?

I miss the old Woot. I used to share my birthday with Woot, but not anymore. :frowning:

Yes, yes, yes! We were gone before I seen that. @SylvreKat even beat us there! She has my number now!

I had a blast!
TLDR; 5 hours of sleep. 4 shots of espresso. 2nd place in Cornhole tournament! 5 times through cake and ice cream line. Free shirt (discrimination against cake lovers no 3X)! $21.00 discount card. Still no BOC!

The combination of the Woot staff’s organization of the event and friendliness of the Casey chamber of commerce made it a truly spectacular event. I arrived around 8 am after meeting some of the locals who were having garage sales. From there I had a Yellow Submarine (Banana Chai) and 2 double shots of espresso. I talked to a couple of staff members who were setting up the mailbox for the event. I was telling anyone who would listen that I’m MrBarister in the Woot forum.

I found the table where the Cornhole tournament was being organized, and said that I’d like to play, but didn’t have a partner. Deb found a local, the husband of the owner of The Traveling Mug. He warned me that he wasn’t very good, so we were on the same level. We took 2nd place getting slaughtered by a couple of professionals who brought their own bags. I got to see the world’s largest pair of wooden shoes. I had no idea that there would be money inside! Woot! Had a box of T-shirts, but I was told the box of 3X was lost. I’d say motivation to lose those weight, but I went through the cake and ice cream line 5 times. The woman serving was very polite, even though I was being weird by not actually taking more cake after the 1st time through.

The car show was pretty amazing, although a lot more low key than what you’d expect. The owner’s didn’t do a whole lot engaging, but were there if you had any questions. I thought the croquet mallet turned battle axe to hold up the hood of one car was pretty cool, but was very disappointed that the flux capacitor was not installed in the Delorean. It was just sitting in the passenger seat next to the hover board. The businesses were booming, and with all hands on deck the employees of Rock Hound were friendly and enthusiastic. I stopped by Deborah’s Attic to warn the lady behind the counter that I had a couple of screaming monkeys on order for her to be delivered to her shop.

The birthday party itself was a blast with various crowd refrain chants, singing happy birthday, and just talking to other people and find out where they were coming from. I didn’t win any of the hundred BOCs that were raffled off. Instead of calling all the numbers, they just taped them to a board, and let us see if our numbers were on the board. It was chaos, but neither bodies nor feelings were hurt. Many people got shirts, cake, ice cream, and a $21.00 coupon.

Oh, and the monkeys that Woot married, showed up and gave out wedding T-shirts as well (up to XL). Oh, and a drone was spying on us. Oh, and I got to meet a music artist from Chicago named Coso McWhispers who hooked me up with a free copy of his album. I didn’t partake in the scavenger hunt though, and completely missed the Dad Joke competition.

Happy Birthday Woot!

Hey it was nice meeting you. I didn’t see your message looking to car pool, but I was probably already on my way by the time you sent it. I made it all the way there and back with less than 11 gallons of gas. Anyway, glad to help you get your cake and ice cream, and I hope you made it home safely.
