The Werner ladder may be 22’, which is the same as the Workman ladder however it also weighs 47 pounds whereas the Workman ladder only weighs 37 pounds. Ten pounds makes a big difference.

Wonder if the weight difference is thinner aluminum or possible magnesium?

Hi! The weight difference is from optimizing the shape of the aluminum profiles to get the highest strength-to-weight ratio, as well as using different alloys of aluminum that are stronger than others. By doing this, we are able to pass all of the same ANSI tests as the heavier ladders in the same 300lb duty rating but at a much lighter weight.
