I wouldn’t count on the warranty. I bought a WowWee robot from Woot a while back and when it failed during the warranty period, WowWee refused service because Woot was not an “authorized retailer!”

You can read more about that on my site here - Robot Division - WowWee Complaint

[MOD: We purchase directly from WowWee. See staff post below.]

A couple of questions. Does it come with the “tray”? The warranty says only applies if purchased from an authorized dealer, is Woot one and can it be returned to Woot if there’s an issue in the first 30 days, per the WowWee warranty? The warranty also doesn’t indicate a timeframe other than to say “from 30 days to the end of the warranty period” they can replace … etc. Is their normal warranty period the 90 days indicated by Woot? Thanks for any answers you can provide.

Curious thing, my post was written 4 minutes before RebelTaz’s above yet mine is shown after.

Silver model # ends in 47… coincidence?

Yeah, probably.

WowWee is the worst company I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

In 2010 Woot sold a bot called the “Rovio” which was by far the biggest pile of carp ever made. The device was sold here WowWee Rovio and essentially worked for nobody. The device should never have made it beyond the testing phase and absolutely never should have been placed in a box to ship. Besides having absolute connectivity issues, the robot was unable to be charged due to the terrible design flaws that caused the battery to ignore the charger.

Many hacks were made to try and fix the issue but all fell flat on their face. WowWee was absolutely useless and many users got screwed out of $105 on this product.

I still have the piece of crap gathering dust under my bed.

12 pages of comments and no one walked away happy.

Sounds fishy to me.

HAHAHAH!!!

Don’t know anything about this product, but got this from WowWee for Christmas and am thoroughly impressed!

My boys 13 & 9 have one of these “robots”. They beat the crap out of that thing and it keeps on going. I can’t comment on the customer service of the company or the warranty but, I can say the thing is built pretty well. I just wish there was a mute button on the damn thing.

Very enlightening. Thank you. I was going to buy one for my grandson’s birthday, but have decided against it based on your experience.

I wonder; have you attempted to hold Woot’s feet to the fire? Seems to me they have no right to offer a warranty they are not authorized to offer. Shouldn’t Woot then be held accountable?

So sorry to hear about your previous experience, but just wanted to let you know that these MiP robots came directly from WowWee and are authorized to include their manufacturer warranty.

In that case, I ordered one. Thanks!

This is the link for the robot.

Yes, both colors include the tray.

Slap a bluetooth speaker on one of these and I’d be very tempted.

As blast from the past for those Wooters who have been around for a while will get this…

Where is Mitch V and his…

$50 ROBOSAPIEN!!!

Are these rechargeable with cords, or take batteries?
