The backstory to what led up to this is that I had to uninstall the woot app in order to get my free shirt coupon to work. Every time I tried to use it on the website, it would automatically kick it back to the app where it wouldn’t work, hence the uninstall. Once I was able to get the coupon to work in the website, I reinstalled the app.
Somehow, some way my Amazon Japan account got linked to my woot account.
So now when I try to buy anything on woot, I get the following error message. (See attached pic)
I went to my Amazon Japan account and deactivated everything from that account and my devices.
I have logged out of woot and back in multiple times, deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times, etc.
When you use the link in the error message, it sends you to Amazon pay. Amazon pay states it’s an Amazon account problem and sends me to Amazon customer service. Amazon customer service sends me to woot. Wash rinse repeat.
Had my Woot account for 15 years +, but I’m about ready to delete the whole thing and start over again. Please help
Thank you for responding. I know the coupon thing is past but for whatever reason That solution did not work for me, hence having to delete the whole app.
I essentially have to log in twice. The first time links my woot account to my Amazon US account as normal.
When I put anything in my cart (I’ve tried more than 10 different things BTW) and try to pay, it asked me to log in again. This is where I believe the problem lies. When I do, it gives me that error message that I have attached about my account not being the correct region.
Interestingly enough, I was finally able to get to a PC and used a Chrome browser there and was able to log into woot, get something into my cart, and get the correct pay screen that does not charge me since I’m an Amazon Prime member in the US.
Whatever is going on, it seems to be exclusive to Android and it’s super busted.
