Should we assume woot is an authorized reseller?

Woot! Dumbbells! Who’d a thought?

Yes, assume. I’ll double check just for kicks, though.

UPDATE: Woot is an authorized reseller of these dumbbells. Hope that helps!

I wouldn’t.

I ordered one of these a few months ago and it has been pretty great. My only complaint is that it primarily adjusts in 10lb increments. For instance, sometimes I want to adjust to 25lb but end up going to 30lb to remain symmetrical.

Not sure about this brand, but I have the Bowflex Selectechs, and I love them. The quick weight change is a huge boost in productivity to any workout, particularly quick circuit (e.g. P90x) types.

If a stand is available, I recommend one, as it is particularly back-saving.

I bought these last time they were on woot, I don’t use them as often as I would like to but I really like them.

As for the idea that they don’t technically adjust in 5lb increments, I often just take off one side to get to a 5lb increment and though this leads to uneven weight I find it can be fixed in one of two ways:

  1. do a workout where it doesn’t matter i.e. hammer curls since the weight is held vertically and not horizontally

  1. Double up on your sets, do a bicep curl with the heavier side in and do a set with the heavier side out.

You can adjust these in 5 pound increments if you adjust your grip. You can just position your hand close to the heavier side and it’s fine to use them.

I bought these last time they were on and they’ve been great. Been using them a few times a week. Great purchase for me.

Is this for one or a pair?

Single (one)

Bummer. Only one dumbbell. I’d pay a bit more for the pair.
