Time to learn all about the warranty

Good for small SUV like Equinox?

So it’s for cars only? I have a dodge journey.

Does a list of compatible vehicles exist? Couldn’t find via Google. No mention of MegaJoe when searching on Yakima’s site.

I can’t find this model referenced many places. Is it compatible with glass hatch cars (like an '06 Scion Tc in particular)?

The KingJoe and SuperJoe models seem to be, and even come with the special hooks most racks charge extra for as an add on, but this MegaJoe Elite is tough to dig up.

+1

Scion xB hatchback. Enquiring minds want to know!

Please visit yakima.com/fit/Information and enter your make, model and year as prompted. Next select your Rooftop type, then “Bikes” and lastly “Trunk”.

On the results, please look for Super Joe Pro 3, as that has the same fit as this MegaJoe Elite 3.

Hope it all works out - this is a great rack at a great price!

Unfortunately this model is for cars with trunks. We get in several hitch racks for SUVs and such, and I’m sure we’ll have some up on the site before too long…

There are a lot of good, helpful reviews of this product over on the Dick’s Sporting Goods website. It looks like it has been well-received by a majority of the buyers there.

I have the 2 bike version of this guy, and loved it - was very solid and secure. I forgot to strap my bike in a few times, and it still stayed on great!

The only issue I had with this was that I used it primarily in the desert. The straps would eventually stretch out and break (the ones holding the bike in place). you can get replacements for a few bucks from Yakima (I think I made REI do that for me), and they’re super simple to put back in. Needed replacement once a year with daily usage. Granted, the desert is a very harsh environment, where the straps were in 100F sun and dryness.

Note - I paid over twice this for a double rack, so this is a really good deal!

If you’re looking for one for a small SUV, here is one at Menards. It even shows it mounted to a Ford Edge - and it’s cheaper. Made by Swiss Cargo.

One of the reviewers on dickssportinggoods.com stated this product is not compatible with any type of spoiler. Can we get confirmation of this? I didn’t see it mentioned on Yakima’s site.

I have another brand rack just like this and it fits fine on hatchbacks and SUV backs, in fact most pictures I found on the web show it on a flat back (hatch or suv) style installation. YMMV but it fit fine on my Jetta wagon, subaru wagon, VW van, SIenna and a couple others I have tried it on

I have this model for my 07 Honda CRV, there are a few suv models with the glass hatch that require additional straps to be bought ($5?) that don’t come with the product. I was able to find those extra straps at a local bike shop.

I’ve got one of these, and it has worked exceptionally well. Former car had a spoiler, and this fit over without issues. It can be reconfigured to fit an SUV or hatchback, but I’ve never used it that way. One strap nearly cut through, but I tied a knot in it, jiggled things around a little, and kept going.

It’s not my go-to rack, since I normally drive a pickup and have a rack perma-mounted in the back. This is for the wife’s car. But, I hauled my bike from Missouri to Idaho for a triathlon a while back and it worked just fine, and hauled two bikes back (found a roadkill bike on the interstate that needed a good home…)

Does anyone know the difference between the Mega Joe Elite and the SuperJoe Pro 3? Why is the “Elite” $100 less?

They are very comparable. The biggest difference was that the MegaJoe Elite was only sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods. It has been discontinued so we were able to get it at a very good price for you all. This is a lot of rack for $49.99.

In for 1 - will fit my wife’s Camry. Doesn’t appear to be a fit for my Avalon.
