I bought these last time they were offered, and I like them. The first time I tried to use them for an extended period of time, they started to hurt my ears after about 2 hours, but after taking a break for a day and adjusting the fit more carefully, I’ve been able to wear them comfortably for 6-8.

One initial source of consternation: The app for controlling these is ‘Headphones Controller’, found here:
Headphones Controller on the App Store (apple.com)

Is it not 'Headphone Control, found here:

Adjustments are limited, but the app is needed for firmware updates. There was one update for mine available out of the box, and it did significantly improve noise cancelling performance. Biggest complaint in the reviews online seems to be poor noise cancelling performance, but that complaint isn’t present in all reviews, could be a result of reviewing with different firmware.

My subjective experience, sitting less then 3 meters away from a propane forced air heater all day, is that the difference between passive isolation with ANC off and ANC on is very significant. The heater is barely a whisper with ANC on, I can listen to a podcast or audiobook at the minimum volume setting on my iPhone and have no trouble at all hearing and understanding.
