If you’re interested in that Omen 15-5010NR, note that the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard, i.e., it cannot be upgraded.
No way I’d pay $1k for a laptop that’s stuck with only 8 GB of RAM.
Thanks for the warning. For this price, though, I think I’ll still go for it. The games I play, 8GB is tight, but it’s all I got on my i5 desktop, and my old Alienware M11xR3 has 8GB I’ve never upgraded and it serves my purposes. This is an upgrade in the laptop dept for me in every way.
Was going to go with an MSI gaming machine a few weeks ago, but to build it out how I wanted would have been like 2k. I have come back down off my fantasy cloud and entered reasonable price land. If this setup isn’t cheaper anywhere else, I think it’s a good deal.
Edit: Aaaand… it looks like they only had 3 in stock, I got the last one. I’ll be sure to post my regrets if any.
