Never left handed. So sad ( p′︵‵。)

I have been playing the TaylorMade Burner Plus irons for the last couple of years. They are very forgiving, which make them ideal for the recreational golfer like myself.

They’ve actually helped improve my game quite a bit, and I can see playing these irons for a long time.

I have the taylormade burner 2.0 (thanks woot!) and LOVE them. I’ve been a TM fan for years as my previous set was a set of TM LCG irons that I bought back in 2002 with TM driver (i updated my driver almost yearly) and TM woods with NIKE hybrids. I decided to upgrade everything in 2013 and got the burner 2.0 irons + hybrids to go along with a cobra amp CELL driver that my wife got me for xmas and some NIKE covert tour fairway woods. I’ve only played 3 rounds with the cobra driver but i love it. I imagine the cobra irons are a nice set as well as i’ve read good reviews on them and had i not bought new irons last year i would have at least borrowed a set at my local course to play a few rounds to see how they perform. That being said, the cobra irons look to be a great deal, the taylor mades… not so much as they’re 2008 models?

I have the Cobra Amps. (left-handed, unlike these ;-( )

They’re good. They have a good solid feel on well struck shots. Off-center hits still go about 95% of the distance, and yet you can feel that it was off-center. That feedback is very helpful.

I have no complaints at all and no plans to replace them. For what it’s worth I’m currently an 8 handicap.

Here’s the Cobra graphite set for ten dollars less. Didn’t check shipping.

You guys linked and gave a perma link at top to a post for the same clubs @ Golfsmith for $5 less with free shipping.

I just thought it was silly was all.

Great Reviews on

This link is to a different set, with only a 5-PW. Woot is offering a 4-GW set.

The 4-GW set on is $299+ shipping, and the link is

Am I reading the Specs right? If I want the Cobra irons in a stiff flex, the only option is a graphite shaft? No stiff flex steel irons option for the Cobra?

The specifications Woot list shows nine clubs for the Cobra set and 8 clubs for the Taylor made set.

Is this correct? You list a sand wedge in the specs for the Cobra set, is that included?

I would also like an answer to this question.

I ordered a set this morning and my e-mail order summary reads, “Tempered Steel, Stiff Flex”…hoping Woot has this right as I do not want graphite

Hmm, when I use that link they show up as $300 at Golfsmith

Currently researching both- I’ll try to get back to y’all ASAP. The steel-email thing is what’s throwing us off, we’re pretty sure we only have graphite for the Cobra!

I’m waiting on a response to possibly pull the trigger on a Cobra set. Initially the features tab said that the regular flex was steel 4-PW, GW, but that the stiff flex was graphite 5-PW, SW. or something like that.

I’m specifically looking at the stiff flex, and I’m hoping it’s 4-PW, SW. Can we get confirmation of the clubs included in each set as well as the shaft material?

Ok, I was just informed that all Cobra are steel, that should be updated along with the specs which are now clearer about what clubs come in the set.
