Bought this as a carry on bag, just got it yesterday and its really a nice bag. The construction feels solid.
I’ve used mine for a while now as a 3-4 day travel bag, and it’s been great so far, very versatile and sturdy-- as have all of my other Yukon Outfitter packs, bags and cases that I’ve Woot’ed (the bug-out bag was $39.99 at the time, but even at this price, it’s a good deal).
These are great bags unless you are looking for something to trail hike (lol)… I’ve used 3 of these to build emergency bags (bug out, shelter in place x2) and found them perfect for the need. The built in zipper compartments form one big compartment into 3. I put food and cookware on one side. Middle got sleeping system, shelter, water purifier and firestarter and other misc items (solar panel, emergency radio, hammock and sleeping pad-Klymit Static V) with enough room for the user to stash at least a set of clothes. And the 3rd compartment was hygiene, first-aid, more water pouches, more firestarter, emergency blanket(s) and bivy in a bag that can be taken out carried if you had to leave the big bag behind. Outer pouches do not hold bulky items so flat items such as notepads, pens, fire starter, playing cards, knife, batteries, power brick (to recharge cell phones, radio, etc) 55gal garbage bags, energey bars. Top pouch might seem large but it holds a full size military poncho, headlamp and flashlight and yes, a pouch that has a bic lighter and some birch bark for yet another firestarter. I made these bags for my son, who’s in college like 10 hours away in an urban area so his bag is made up for that kind of area and the other two are for travel and non-urban (mades a difference on what type of sleeping system/shelter and how much water is stored inside the bag.
My rambling point is, these are great bags, well built. I had one that showed up with it’s zipper off track a bit but after playing around with it, got it to zip from one side to the next. They can be carried like a back pack, by two people or like a duffel which makes them perfect to keep in the car or as a grab and go bag. I’m going to “grab” another. Stay safe.
Great for a carry on. I’ve also used this bag on camping trips. It’s very well built and Yukon Outfitters did well with attention to detail. Yukon Outfitters also stands behind their product, and I’ve had great customer service with other items they make that I’ve purchased on woot.
This bag is a very high quality bag that holds enough stuff for my 10 day vacation
I bought this bag a couple of years ago and it is standing up great. Large enough to carry clothing for five days plus a an extra pair of shoes. Lots of pockets and I especially like the top pockets to store toiletries and other small items. The MOLLE system is also great; I strap a couple of other small pouches for my phone, tablet and vaping kit so that everything is readily available without digging through the main bag. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Gotta have that vaping equipment readily available!
I bought this bag when it was first offered. It’s 2 or 3 years old and I used it once a month at most for that time. The main zipper is not good and already has a tear on it.
It’s not maxpedition quality but you’re not paying for it either.
I have a maxpedition gear bag that’s 6 years old and used every work day that’s in better condition.

Good to know. I have a few of thier other bags I use about once a month (scout camping). One of these types bags I got had one of the zippers out of it’s “track” and took a bit to get it back in but it’s been fine and have them packed pretty tight. Granted they don’t get used every week or month but have been moved from time to time and get tossed around. So far, the zippers have held up. I have some kelty bags too that I’ve had since the early 2000’s and are still going strong.

This profile and usernamehas commented on many of the bags offered by Yukon Outfitters in this woot. However if you click the white box by their username you will see they have never purchased from woot.
Has anyone ever ordered and RECEIVED a coyote/foliage colored one. I’ve ordered 2 other bags on here, both times Coyote/Foliage, and both times it come Olive colored in a box marked Coyote. And yes, I do know what they should look like because I have another Olive colored bag marked Olive…

Yes, I’ve had the order Coyote/Foliage and received green and black. It is really annoying and has happened way to many times. As to the post about the bad zippers. When Yukon first started getting popular they had poor quality zippers. They have since fixed that. I own a dozen or more Yukon bags and they all have lasted years and still look good with no zipper problems.
has anyone used this as a carry on?
seems to be a little over sized at 26"
I have. These were our key bags for travel to/ around Japan for two weeks last year. We wanted carry-on bags that we could keep 2-3 days worth of clothing and other personal items in, and then ship our big, conventional luggage from city to city.
Long story short, these are technically a little outside the typical carry-on size, but so long as you’re not packing these to the absolute max, there’s typically a little bit of give to let them slip into a carry-on check display. We were never questioned or hassled as to the size during check-in, security, or boarding.
I have three of these bags – two bought through Woot; one bought through Yukon – and I cannot say enough positive things about these bags. Well-made, extremely versatile, and compartments everywhere. Have yet to encounter any issue with stitching/ zippers/ etc, and I have loaded them to the absolute max once, using two to remove all personal effects from a cubicle when moving from office to ofice.
MOLLE was great as I could lash down my camera bag – brought aboard as a “personal item” – to the bag and carry just one entity through airport terminals/ train stations/ etc. Also have to say this was the perfect size bag for trying to navigate public transport in Japan - right sized for luggage racks, and don’t eat up too much space.
Only thing I wish it had were snaps for the internal flaps – if you zip it up and put a lot of weight on that panel, sometimes the zippers do work their way down slightly – a secondary snap would help re-enforce.
Don’t technically have a need for a fourth bag at this point, but they’re truly useful bags and this is a great price point – I may just have to buy another just to have handy.
Has anyone actually used one long term in an outdoor situation? How did it hold up?
