I have a few bags/packs from Yukon, and simply love their products. Now yes, you can find some negative reviews for some of their stuff, but you can do that for practically ANYTHING you buy.
Their gear is heavy-duty, well made and durable. I use the range bag almost weekly, and this Sling Pack daily. It holds a lot more than what it looks like, and with so many pockets/pouches/etc, I sometimes forget where I’ve stashed things!
About the only ‘negative’ aspect of all the gear I’ve gotten from them is that, when you first get it from the box, it MIGHT have a chemical smell from the manufacturing process, but if you leave it out for a few hours before putting stuff in it, that goes away. I figure it’s probably from the waterproofing they put on the bags.
Yes…I said waterproofing. Even though none of the products I have are labeled as ‘waterproof’, they do a great job of shedding water for everything but a direct downpour!
These are a good deal at $29, as they usually come up on here for $39, and are much more ($49)on their website. I’m not a ‘shill’ for the company, but if you are on the fence about this, for $30, you can’t go wrong!
How is the comfort level of these for day-hikes?
I use one for my 6 mile bike commute everyday and it’s just fine. Of course since it’s a sling pack if you weigh it down you’ll feel it a little bit more then a normal bag but for day hikes it’s been wonderful.
I bought this when it was $39.99.
I am little pissed off now, but it is a nice addition. Specially if you are not doing anything that requires a lot of gear. Access is nice as you slide it up to the front grab something and slide it back.
The “list price” here is shenanigans… Yukon Outfitters themselves sell it for $50, not $60. I expected better from you Woot!
Selling ‘survivalist’ gear? Way to go, Woot…feed in to everyone’s fear factor. What’s next…a bomb shelter? Two thumbs down.
