I bought this bag last year and it is HUGE! I was laughed out of my local shooting range as they thought I had body parts in it. This thing is impractical for normal people unless they are packing 6 or 7 guns to the range.
Get it from Woot if you want one! I had ordered 2 from a previous woot as well as a backpack. I liked them so much I ordered the bug out bag straight from Yukon Outfitters website. Over a month after ordering I still had not received the bag. I tried several times to contact them by email and eventually even found a phone number but was not able to get a hold of anyone! I eventually had to contact my credit card company to dispute the charge. I really would have liked to receive the bag…oh well hopefully Woot will offer the bug out bag at some point so I can get one.
I bought this bag from Woot about a year ago. I could not be happier. I beg to differ with the opinion that it’s too big. It is the perfect size if you carry pistols, magazines, ammunition, hearing & eye protection and some components of a cleaning kit. The bag is slightly larger than a gym bag and is EXTREMELY well made. The outer pockets are perfect to store small targets and magazines. The upper pockets are pefect for gloves, or other light gear. The inside compartments are large and adjust with a velcro flap. The shoulder strap is perfect for carrying heavier loads. You can comfortably carry a couple hundred rounds. Any more than that and you’re a Sherpa. This is a very good deal and a very well made bag. If you get laughed out of your range for carrying this… find a new range!
I own this bag and a very comparable one from Midway that I would say is almost identical in dimension and purpose. As some have pointed out, it is bigger than one might expect if they are used to little pistol bags.
Although I prefer the look and pocket layout of this bag, I will not be using it over my Midway. There is no rigidity to it at all. It comes with a floorboard thing but its way too soft. In fact it was creased weird in shipping and I cant get it to lay flat anyway. Their method for partitioning the main compartment is similar. A thin wall that you can try to attach via awkwardly placed Velcro. The other bag is similar in this way, but the divider is a little stiffer and sturdier. Although, I have since removed it in favor of using two of their individual pistol bags which fit perfectly and add a ton of pistol specific mag carry.
All-in-all this bag is a good deal at this price and will prove useful in some way, probably BoB or duffel. I don’t regret the purchase at all. I will just not be using it for my pistol setup.
I bought a Yukon Tactical backpack about a year ago. The vinyl off-gassing is so bad it stunk up my whole house when I first opened it, and months later, although not as bad, it still smells. I had intended to use it for hunting but the odor made that completely impossible.
Anyone know if this has the same problem?
