Zilla: Lyrics you are feeling right now!

#1

Just post some lyrice you really like along with the song and artist, as shown:

Hide and Seek,
Planes and sewing machines,
All those years,
they were here first.

Imogen Heap - “Hide and Seek”

#2

A winter’s day
In a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window
To the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow

Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds of Silence

#3

Here’s the pitch,
slow and straight,
all I have to do is swing and I’m a hero,
but I’m a zero.

Weezer - “Perfect Situation”

#4

If you could read my mind, love
what a tale my thoughts could tell
Just like an old time movie
about a ghost from a wishing well
in a castle dark, or a fortress strong
with chains upon my feet
you know that ghost is me
and I will never be set free
as long as I’m a ghost you can’t see

Gordon Lightfoot - "I you could read my mind"

#5

Excuse me,
I didn’t mean to cause you any trouble.

Revel - “Covet”

#6

Do you carry in the center of your heart
It seems like nothings really ever fair.
Well here’s a newsflash in your evening TV broadcast
This is why you wont go anywhere.

The song in you,
is out of tune.

Wait and worry get the hit thing on the market
find the hotspot and hurry there
Prim and proper, get discovered and picked up,
it looks like you;'re going home again

This song,
In you,
Is out,
of tune.

Avoid your own eyes
Attempt to forget to whom you lie

You wont let yourself inspect yourself,
You wont let yourself respect yourself,
you won’t let youself win

This song In you,
Is out of tune.

Revel - Respect yourself

Hi Pooflady,
It only took me an hour, but I figured out why this didn’t seem quite right.

A winter’s day
In a deep and dark December
I am alone
Gazing from my window
To the streets below
On a freshly fallen silent shroud of snow

It's "I am an Island" by S&G

and yes, D’name, it is EVERY teenagers’ angst theme song!

Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a silence softly creeping
Left it’s seeds while I was sleeping
and the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

#11

I’ve read it five times. What’s different?

#12

See the world
Find an old fashioned girl
And when all’s been said and done
It’s the things that are given, not won
Are the things that you want

Gomez - See the world

#13

Did you ever give your kid a album (well a CD) of a band you liked? Then they like it and play it so many times that you hate one of your favorite groups?
That is what happened when son found Paul Simon
Thank god for Ipods. now I don’t have to hear.

#14

I didn’t see any either.

I declare that from now on, if you can’t put a link that has the music, you can’t post here.

#15

Oops. Not Sounds of Silence. I am a Rock.

#16

Fools said Ah you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows

he liked that one too.

#17

So do I.

#18

I messed up and hit the “tab” key while I was typing and somehow it was interpreted as “post”. I messed up another message I tried to post earlier and stuck my lyrics in the middle of Zilla’s.

I’m sorry, I just a big doofus.
(sigh, sniff)

#19

I even tried telling him he was listening to the teen angst of someone who is now in his 60’s.
Son still listened.

Of course Paul Simon did grow up in Queens. Went to Queens college too!

Hubby and I took #1 son to the Simon and Garfunkle concert 2 years ago. I loved it! When #3 was around 4 his favorite thing to sing was the chorus to “Cecillia”.

Cellia, you’re breaking my heart
You’re shaking my confidence daily
Oh Cecillia, I’m down on my knees
I’m begging you please to come home
Come on home
