Zodiac Radar and Laser Detector

anyone know if this is a good radar detector? i just got a speeding ticket, 64 in a 35, kinda need one of these.

I like that it has a compass. I’ve never seen one this cheap. What’s the warranty?

Cool, but I have never heard of this brand. Cheap usually means junk, as far as radar detectors go.

Got one…

Best price on Froogle is $59.95.

This is utter junk and rubbish. If youreally need a radar detector, then you really need one that works properly like the Escort Passport 8500 or Valentine 1. This Woot is nothing more than a plug-in placebo, and will undoubtedly lead many suckers to the enchanted land of traffic court.

Don’t buy this piece of crap. If you can’t afford a real radar detector, I’d suggest slowing down until you can.

Does it work with a Mac?

new rules are the bomb woot

Yeah, I know what you mean

anyone that gets this, most likely speeds, and doesn’t need to get one of these, they need to get caught, so they don’t speed, and kill some one. Sorry, but i know people that where killed by speeders.

Oh yeah, and those brushgaurds that no one needs in the city, unless you like killing a little baby from a “T-Bone” collision! That was your fault, because you sped

Some people need to read the “we really mean the rules now” post…

[edit: looks like they got the slapdown, yea!]

I don’t think I’d trust a $30 detector. YMMV.

its times like these i wish woot accepted paypal :frowning: (Wah!)

Bottom end model — if you had offered the higher end model with the wireless battery-powered option, I’d take it. The last thing I need or want is one more cord draped on the dash/instrument panel to plug into the cig lighter. Battery-powered makes it nice and clean …and easy to stow away on short notice. Come back with a wireless version!

for those of you with a car… jeeeze " i dont have a car"??? c’mon
not a BOC but atleast the other radar dector has saved me at least 10 times. well worth the money…
i dont have a car… bahwaaaaaa
I put B.O.C. not “bone of contention…”

What is the basis for this info???

Have you owned this? Do you have a consumer report or something? When I see a cheap product, I don’t automatically assume it’s junk… I had a passport on while receiving a ticket once so that means nothing…

$30 won’t buy you a radar detector. It buys you a speeding ticket detector. When it goes off, you’ve just got a ticket. I’ll stick with my Valentine 1.

i got one

Okay, the reason I want one of these is because I play REALLY LOUD music from my kick in the teeth sound system. I don’t want to block cops radar detectors, all I want is to detect the cops before they can hear my system. Does anyone know if this is a good product for such a purpose? I rarely speed so that isn’t a concern of mine.

Valentine 1 baby - woth the $$$ - live with those freaking arrows and you’ll never go back.

Downside is they are $400 bucks new and $385 on eBAY…damn

Looks like I’ll be a passin on this one…Nite all.

My first and “ONLY” ticket was when I was using a radar detector…It had so many false alerts so my husband kindly told me not to pay attention when the dang thing went off and low and behold over the next hill who do you suppose appeared? Not one but 3 cops…never had a ticket since and never used one again…I think I’ll take my chances without no thanks…too many false alerts!
