Oh, the irony! A photo showing a NY plate with the plastic cover and New York law specifically prohibits using any glass or plastic plate covers or any kind of coating on license plates! That’s because of the license plate readers (LPR) at the toll booths and on police cars. Also, according to a law passed by the New York City Council last spring, the sale of anything that obscures a vehicle license plate is now banned in the five boroughs. Woot better think out the legalities of the sale of these covers as they are illegal in most states. Woot will not ship me a pocket knife because of NY law. Apparently, Amazon went into agreement to not sell or ship to NYC. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/i-team-license-plate-covers-still-for-sale-at-big-name-stores-despite-nyc-ban/4081056/
We need to find some of that special paint that obscures your plate from pictures.
Does NY ban that and what brand and type is it?
/for a friend
NY bans everything, lol
NY is excluded.
I didn’t mean to rain on anyone’s party, lol
No rain here! Oklahoma is moving torwards this though. They discontinued manned turnpike gates and if you don’t have the windshield pass, they’ll conveniently mail you the bill.
If not yet, soon I imagine, they’ll outlaw plate shields and the like.
Too late!
