Are these made in China or Germany?

Perfect reviews over at

Could be Spain. Some of their stuff is made there.

They are made in Spain unless they have changed the manufacturing location. I bought this set for the same price during a big sale at William-Sonoma and I really like them. They are sharp, have nice weight, and look very nice.

I have no idea if these are the same model, all though they look the same. But I have some Henckels steak knives I bought at the Bon Marche (Macy’s) years ago, and I’ve been mostly disappointed with them. Don’t get me wrong, they cut just fine. But they get spots on them that look quite a bit like rust. If I hadn’t bought them at the Bon, I would assume they were knock-offs.

Whole bunch of words, no mention of what type stainless.

$15.32 without the box?

various website mentions its 18/10 stainless steel. As for whether it contains other metals to make it VG-10 or such, I highly doubt it.

doubt it. they are likely stamped instead of forged, as the ones being sold are. That is why they are just knives instead of steak knives. Cheap steel that probably can’t hold an edge.

why would wayfair sell $10 and $80 ones?

At first I thought this was the set I had, and was about to give them a hearty recommendation, but then I zoomed in.

I have this set: I wasn’t sure, because I’ve had them out of the box and in the block for a while now. But they’re great steak knives. We don’t even treat them as well as our other knives (sometimes the wife puts them in the dishwasher), and I’ve seen no staining or spotting. They still cut steak perfectly. Maybe the woot deal knives are as good shrugs

I’ve always wondered about steak knives. I’ve never had a steak that couldn’t be easily cut with an ordinary table knife. I don’t see the need for these.

The Stainless Steak knives are made in a corporate owned factory in Vietnam.
The Presentation Wood Chest is made in a corporate owned factory in China

The $80 set is stamped but made in Germany.

Construction: Stamped
Country of Manufacture: Germany

The $10 set doesn’t specify construction but is made in China.

Country of Manufacture: China

Those might be a bargain I don’t know, but they are definitely completely different knives.

The handle on the non-boxed ones has a kinda hourglass shape while the ones in this deal are more of a conic section type shape.

The blade on the non-boxed ones is serrated for a larger portion of its length than the boxed ones, and the branding is both in a different location and different style.

Hey all- we’ve lowered the price, what a world! Everyone who bought pre-price drop will get an email & refund from us later today.

Confirmed- these are 18/10!

So are these dishwasher safe?
