does the pattern spin/move/rotate, or is it just static once it is manually set?

The pattern is static once set. There is a manual dial beneath the weather protectant cap which can be spun to create numerous effects.

I bought a whole bunch of these and used them for Christmas. Some notes:
- The company is responsive and replaced one that died after one night of usage.
- The green is the brightest by far. You could see green projected 70ft up into a tree.
- Blue is very dim compared to the other colors. I love the color though. If these come back on sale Iād buy more blue just because I like the understated effect when pointed into the trees. But people might be very disappointed in the brightness if they are expecting it to really be bright.
- Only some come with leads for tying into 12v landscaping wiring. For the rest you are either on your own or you need to run regular line voltage extension cords out to each light.
