So is it a SNOW machine or a FOG machine? The title says snow, but the description says fog and mentions nontoxic chemicals to make the fog…
It’s a “snow” machine that uses a soap formula to make foamy bubbles. I know it’s not very clear.
It needs fluid which it doesn’t come with evidently, and the fluid type and availability is not specified… Plus there is no video of the product in action… Won’t a kind Woot staffer provide some details please?
@Mopsbauer This is a snow machine not a fog machine!
It’s not a snow machine or a fog machine. This thing makes faux snow. It take a mystery snow liquid to function.
I was hoping for real snow flakes. ![]()
sure hope woot is selling snow shovels tomorrow so i can clean it all up!
That’s helpful, thanks! And wow, that’s loud.
Does it have to be cold outside for this fake snow to work?
Ya sure. Looks like snow.
I guess you need something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Froggys-Flakes-Machine-Evaporative-Formula/dp/B004B4066E#customerReviews
Or you can apparently make your own snow juice: Home - PlanetChristmas
This effect is used yearly at each Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. Granted, this is a much smaller unit but these “soapflakes”, not snowflakes, are gone minutes if not seconds after they land on you or the floor. It’s difficult to see here but it’s a wicked effect if you use the lasers in addition to the soap flakes.
Have been looking into this machine for a couple weeks and others. It doesn’t require it to be cold outside. Noticed on Amazon someone in Hawaii was using it for faux snow. It’s basically a really foamy soap. If its colder, I think the soap may last a bit longer.
There are a few people who share a formula they created to make their own mix which is significantly cheaper. 1 Cup Mr. Bubbles, 1 Cup isopropyl Alcohol and 2 gallons of distilled water is one example.
Can’t personally vouch for it but something I jotted down to try.
Doesn’t quite look like 2000 CFM…More like 1 CFM
Notice how the northern-most states aren’t buying these since they’re already getting natural snow fall ![]()
