Regardless of the date, I tried these before and they have a hint of sour taste. I can see why they don’t sell well. A bit gross actually.

Fwiw, true espresso is actually notable for a light tartness on the finish. It’s quite possible they use one or more varieties that are supposed to be slightly acidic.

I’ve heard these guys are real coffee geeks, who spend a lot of time choosing just the right beans for each product they offer.
