For heating, is this item basically reversing the compressor/inverter mechanism, or is it just simple electric-resistance heating? If the latter, that’s a very wasteful way to heat air. The description seems to use terms like Warming, not heating. Rooms where we’d be putting same (one each room) are smaller/medium bedrooms, but the loss of a “boiler” we had in the house means that we need to have units that will heat the rooms - about 120-160 sq ft each.
I have a similar pinguino unit, but have not used for heating.
The manual implies that it works like a heat pump, reversing the compressor/inverter flow. The vent hose needs to be connected the same way as in AC mode and there is a potential for the compressor to initially ‘freeze’ from condensation in a very cold room, which will disrupt heating while defreezing. The manual also suggests it should be used in spring and autumn when outside temperatures are not severe.
