Yes, the Outdoor 4 can be added to your existing Blink system. It is compatible with all Blink Sync Modules.

What’s the difference between:

Refurbished #1
Refurbished #2
Refurbished #3
Refurbished #4

They’re the same. The inventory is in multiple SKUs and the Woot system doesn’t combine them.

Thanks.
I just pick it up.
Thanks again

I am grandfathered in with clips sent to the app. Someone mentioned you can add these cameras to the existing sync module. Does anyone know if these cameras will continue to be grandfathered in with clips to the apps like my other camera. I read somewhere that the 4 cameras are only a paid subscription or sync module storage. Can anyone verify that these Gen 4 cameras will allow clips to be stored in the app without a subscription?

Arrives in a brown box with a certified refurbished sticker if that matters to anyone. A consideration if you were planning to gift someone.

Correct :slightly_smiling_face:

Kinda an oddly specific gift, but the plain, nondescript box just adds to the theme.

What is condition/state of charge of the batteries?

The batteries are replaceable, not rechargeable.

(Please Note: I’m not employed by Woot, but I volunteer to help in the forums.)

Did you enable the “Blink SmartHome Skill”?

From Google:

Yes, the Blink Outdoor 4 security system works with Alexa, allowing you to use voice commands to control features like live views, arming/disarming, and more, after enabling the Blink SmartHome Skill and discovering your Outdoor 4 in the Alexa app. [1, 2, 3]

Here’s a more detailed explanation: [1, 3]

  • Compatibility: The Blink Outdoor 4 camera is designed to work seamlessly with Alexa. [1, 3]
  • Enabling the Blink SmartHome Skill: You’ll need to enable the Blink SmartHome skill in the Alexa app to integrate your Blink devices. [2, 3]
  • Discovering your Blink Devices: After enabling the skill, you’ll need to discover your Blink devices within the Alexa app. [3, 4]
  • Controlling your Blink System: Once linked, you can use voice commands to: [3]
    • View live feeds from your Blink cameras on Alexa-enabled devices. [3]
    • Arm or disarm your Blink system. [3]
    • Receive motion announcements. [5]
  • Linking your Blink Account: To get started, link your Blink account to Alexa in the Blink mobile app by going to “Settings,” then “Account and Privacy,” and finally “Link to Alexa”. [2]
  • Two-way audio: Ensure your Blink app has microphone permission on your mobile device before using two-way audio. [6]
  • Blink app requirements: Ensure your device meets the Blink app requirements, such as iOS 14 or higher for iPhones/iPads, Android 9 or higher for Android phones/tablets, or Fire OS 7 or higher for Fire Tablets. [7]

Picked up 2 of these (4 cameras) to set up at my parents house.
Used these to clip onto siding, which i also use at my house (requires 2 per camera mount):

Used App Cloner to clone the Blink app, gave the clone a slightly different name like Blink Parents. Was able to log in with their account and can now monitor my home under the original Blink app too. Very happy.

Yes, these gen 4 cams will be grandfathered in and there will be no subscription charge when they are used. I added two of these to my gen 1 (?) system, and they worked. You may call Blink tech support to verify if you wish.

I picked up a pack of these and a pack of the Outdoor 3 when they were for sale a while back, just to try on a whim since the price for refurbished was so much less than new. I put cameras in my Bluebird houses and for the last few years I had been using Wyze Cam Outdoors, but they require modifying and they’re getting harder to come by. There’ve been a number of headaches and compromises made, but overall I’ve been happy with these cameras. Will likely stock up on more.

I’ve had a few of these for about a year using Lithium AA batteries in a low-traffic area and have yet to replace them. They work great. If you’re in a higher-traffic area you may need to replace the batteries more frequently. Note also that there is a USB-C connected on the rear that you can use to power the device if you want to skip batteries altogether, though you’d need to supply the USB cord and adapter.

I haven’t set up that refurbished cameras yet, but I’ve got a bunch of Blink Outdoor 4 cameras, and I’m very happy with them.

Most of the poor reviews seem to be from people with unrealistic expectations. They run on batteries. One can’t expect them to transmit minute-long clip all day and last.

I record 15 second clips. The batteries in the camera that gets triggered 20-40 times a day lasted just shy of six months. One that gets triggered a little less frequently lasted about seven months. The other five cameras have over six months each and still have the original batteries.

One of the seven cameras went offline. I removed and reinserted the batteries and it has been fine since.

My house has aluminum siding, which I thought might be a problem, but it hasn’t been. Only that one has had a problem.

I use cheap vinyl siding hooks identical to the ones already mentioned, and they work great.

Hope I’m not too late. Don’t venture onto Woot much anymore since I cancelled my Amazon account. But here’s what I know. You CAN add up to 10 cameras per hub under your older no fee plan if you are grandfathered (I am). I also figured out that I can also add another hub, which allows me to add more cameras. I have a hub at my house with 8 cameras. I installed another router, acting as a wifi extender, to a shed about 120ft from the house. I put a hub in the shed and have 4 cameras hooked up to it. Oh, I also have a blink doorbell on the 1st hub so I have 9 units on hub 1, 4 on the other. From what Amazon says, you can have multi hubs on your account.

With an older, grandfathered Blink plan, you can have multiple Blink systems on one account, each managed by a Sync Module. Each Sync Module can handle up to ten Blink devices (like cameras) within a single system. This means you can have several Sync Modules, each controlling its own group of ten or fewer Blink devices, all managed from a single Blink app account.
