I almost bit before I realized that they are the (2-foot) power cord version. I already have enough of those.
I saw some reviews that this has a clamping voltage of like 1,000, lol.

Bought these and both of them blew separate circuit breakers in my house, as soon as they plugged they instantly sent breakers off and I plugged them while their switch was off, luckily it doesn’t appear to have caused any serious damage. I would NOT recommend, I’m going to be contacting Woot! These should be recalled! Buyer beware!
Dang, I guess for low input devices this is fine then. I was hoping to put our fridge, toaster, grow light and electric kettle on this.
The lack of such details definitely signals that these are not intended for sensitive electronics and we accordingly do not use them for that purpose.
I’ve researched and I cannot find anything official online regarding clamping voltage and these Amazon Basics surge protectors.
I hadn’t even put any load on the surge protectors, I had nothing plugged in when they blew my circuit breakers in two separate areas of my house. So 1k volts are not these things like to just pop off,. woot was great at helping me figure out a quick resolution which I’m appreciative of.
I don’t know it freaked me out, I’m certainly going to research surge protectors more carefully going further.
Oh if you just search the web for Amazon Surge Protectors/ Power Strips you’ll find a lot of fairly products.
I..e.
AmazonBasics Products Probed Over Safety Concerns: CNN - Business Insider.
I traveled with one of these to Guatemala last week. On the way home security confiscated it from my bag. I have no idea why but they said it was not allowed. What the heck? Maybe they know something I don’t or is it just overreach?
They probably just needed one for the break room.
