(2 PACK) Anker 5,000mAh USB-C Magsafe Wireless Powerbank

(2 PACK) Anker 5,000mAh USB-C Magsafe Wireless Powerbank

Got these from Costco not too long ago. Pretty good, with three main differences compared to the official (and discontinued) MagSafe Battery:

  • USB-C instead of Lightning
  • Bulkier (and higher capacity)
  • The side that attaches to your phone on this battery pack lacks the “grippy”, rubbery texture that the MagSafe Battery has, which means that this Anker battery slips off the phone pretty easily. In other words, I could (carefully) hold my phone by the attached MagSafe Battery; I would not hold it by the Anker battery.

The stand can at least also serve as a quasi-grasp to put your fingers through, though.

I got a bunch of these CLOSEOUT from another retailer. I think it was Buy Dig in New Jersey… They had a design defect in that if you put two of them together in a bag too closely, they would start discharging electricity to each other and heat up ,
and before long they would both be burned up and never work again.
I tried to return them, but their fun interesting sales associates could not understand what I was saying ,so I just dropped it because they were discounted from $50 to five dollars anyway ..so I am just out of luck on about four of them ,the rest of them I was careful with and never put them around anything else..

Might be a dumb question but are these usable with Android phones? Only saw it say iPhone…

Should be able to via USB-C at the very least.

The case I have for my S25U has the mangers in it, and I’ve had luck with other “MagSafe” batteries attaching and charging.

At the end of the day, it’s basically just Qi wireless charging with convenient magnets to hold it in place.

Bought these at a warehouse club other than Costco for $20.

Pleased with the purchase. They work as advertised and no need to mess with cables, which makes it easy to toss one in your pocket for extended capacity.

Haven’t stowed two next do each other like the above poster and our use case wouldn’t likely result in that problem, so not worried.
