I’m wondering if this would take the same kind of maintenance a regular chain saw needs?
Omg. @peaceetc stop me. Don’t let me do it. He’s only 5. But omg they’d agree to “no gifts” after this.
You probably want him to keep all his limbs, right? At least most of his fingers. Maybe start smaller like some really sharp scissors?
Well, I was going to get him one of those loud rubber chickens. But…
There’s a guard on the blade. I’m sure he’ll be fine.
Just keep a bucket handy to hold anything he might lose while using it. The hospital will want the parts.
For your younger family members? While they’re visiting you? Ok.
Has anyone used one of these?
He thinks it’s cool tool.
Happy Wooting
Dammit. I think I want to buy this.
I think it likely is a little simpler. I own another battery powered chainsaw and maintenance is fairly limited.
No. For yourself, so that I could use it.
Remove the guard. It cuts better.
You can tell me more about how long it may stay in service? I have other not well holding up work devices. I’m wanting reliable tools.
No. There is no oil, no gas, no air filter or spark plug. But you do have to sharpen (and adjust the tension on) the chain when it gets dull. And since there is no chain oil, that will happen more quickly. Of course you have to charge the batteries, but that’s kinda obvious.
Is adjusting the tension something a novice person can handle?
Yes. Its really easy.
It is. Just loosen the (usually) 1/2" nut on the side at the rear of the bar and turn the screw beside the blade (below the nut) clockwise slightly as you hold the saw with the blade parallel to the ground (as if you were using it). Once the chain snugs up to the bar, re-tighten the nut and your good to go. I know I make it sound more complicated than it really is. There are a lot of videos on g@@gletube showing how to do it. You got this ![]()

My order has been cancelled and refunded.
Well shucks.

Awww… I was hoping you’d be able to update us and let us know if it actually does cut more smoothly and is
Moer Wear-resistant
