What Happened To The Description Of This Product? Does Anyone Know The Max Mtu Support For This Switch? Does It Require The Cloud Or An App?
Hi there. These are being obtained from Amazon inventory so we don’t have a lot of information. Here it is on Amazon. There may be more information there.

That’s all there is over there.
Max is 16 KB according to the specs here: TL-SG105E | 5-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch | TP-Link
All the TP-Link “Easy Smart” switches use a Windows utility called “Easy Smart Configuration Utility”. There’s info/downloads about it here: Download for TL-SG105E | TP-Link
That seems like a very sketchy third-party-owned listing with zero reviews!
TP Link is a major company, so, there has to be a better listing.
I think I may have found one:
Has 55k reviews, sold directly by Amazon at $19.99 (compared to $30 at the third-party listing, and $9.99 at Woot).
There are off-brands in the same price range of $9.99 that have 8-ports instead of 5, POE-in support (yet still come with a free power brick, too), and also even allow web interface management.
This does have web interface management in addition to the tp-link windows software, it has options for igmp snooping, port mirroring, QOS modes with bandwidth limits per port, vlan config. All of the features are basic implementations so consider them bonus features. Hardware version I received was 5.6 which seems to be the most recent. Mine had 2021 firmware on it but you can download 2023 firmware and update it via the web console. To get to the web console set an Ethernet port to ip 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0, use a browser to go to http (not https) 192.168.0.1 u:admin p:admin . You may need to disable wifi while you do this to prevent IP conflicts, and the web server takes a minute to be available after power on.
Seems decent to me for $10. Amazon reviews seem to be quite positive, even when filtered to this 5 port version.
Thanks for confirming it does have a web interface!
Do you know how does it compare to the POE-powered smart managed switch from Amazon for $7.99 and $9.99?
There are 5-port and 8-port switches by STEAMEMO and Goalake, which have different SKUs but appear to be the same hardware/software, besides a different color scheme.
They’re kinda confusing somewhat in that one brand is always the cheapest for 5-port at $7.99, and the other one for the 8-port at 9.99 to 10.99.
