Just received this which is a little strange. Usually these ship several days after the sale ends to give the producer time to roast and ship. Because, you know, it’s advertised as “roasted to order.” What’s even fishier is that the bag I received has no roast date/best by stamp or sticker. The past two times I’ve ordered from this roaster it has had a sticker as seen below. Lack of sticker and arrival before end of sale makes me think they are clearing out old stock and not truly roasting to order. Shame cause I’ve enjoyed this coffee in the past. Guess I’ll be looking for a new brand.
I think i noticed the same on my MP. I ordered the ethiopia and seriously good bags too and they both have a date handwritten though iirc. A previous bag of ethiopian also had a date. But none had stickers like your pic
Mine was at the top of the bag by the seal—that’s where I found a hand written date.
No other stickers.
Double checked my bag. No handwritten date. But gives me hope that maybe they just missed mine and it’s fresh roasted.
It doesn’t seem right. I’d be doing the same thing as you. Reaching out & hoping someone will have answers for your rogue bag.
I hope you’ve reached out to CS.
I spoke to 5star coffee and they were super nice and informative. Definitely discussed roast dates and shipping and preference for roast date details on all bags. The smaller bags have a pretty cool calendar on the bottom. They need to make sure it’s consistently used.
I was hopeful for this coffee & really liked the taste. The coffee did not agree with me. ![]()
BUT I have 5lb & so now I’m grinding the coffee into little mounds on a heavy, weighted foil tray. It lights nicely & repells mosquitos on the patio! (Would not place where it’s windy or could catch fire).
Smells nice & non-toxic! Win/win
Guess they didn’t listen. Just received another five lb bag with zero roast info on it.
