these must have been setting around a long time - best by dates in the stores right now are 12/25 or even into spring of 2026. And unfortunately if you freeze these the nougat gets weird when you thaw it - it is just not the at all the same. Of course I know these should still taste just fine for a couple months after their “best by” date. But a 01/25 date code means that having been made months ago, they spent the summer vacationing somewhere - and while we may enjoy really warm environs during a summer vacation, chocolate doesn’t do so well that way. I’m getting a box, but I also have several “snack thieves” living with me so these won’t be around that long.
