What is the difference between using this and simply changing the spacing of your hands on the floor? Not being a smarty, I just don’t get it.
There is no real difference. The board just makes it easier to target your desired muscle groups by getting your arms/hands in the correct starting positions.
Using this can also provide relief for your wrists, which with pushups and variations can feel uncomfortable.

If you have a couple dumbbells, you can accomplish the same type of workout. This is the way I do it anyway.
