Every few months, Woot drags these Adeptus carts out, and every few months, I feel obliged to warn people:
These are horrible, hard as imaginable to assemble, shoddy materials, a lousy finished product, and would be vastly overpriced if they were free.
Just AWFUL.
And then someone comes in to disagree with you. Yeah yeah. We all know how this goes.
Very poor quality. The wood is āplantation pineā and seems similar to really strong balsa. Putting it together is a nightmare because there are so many parts, making this more like a kit than āsome assembly requiredā. If someone writes that putting it together was a breeze I canāt imagine what would be a difficult item. These things are offered on Woot every 4 weeks and the reviews that are favorable are not believable.
Honestly? Youāre going to put that?
@jniemeier and @therealjrn are regulars on here and theyāve both successfully assembled these.
Yes! It took some time to assemble but it wasnāt hard. Iām very happy with mine. It is soft wood and can split easily. I pre drilled some holes to help prevent that.
Sure enough, theyāre just a matter of being patient because of ALL THE FREAKIN SCREWS. But mine is fine, solid bottoms because I assembled it correctly and is perfect for my office!
Solid Bottoms is the name of my new garage band.
I would pay actual money to see them live.
I always appreciate other Wooters experience/review of things! So, thank youš
Just like I said last time, these are worth it, but you need to be careful and take your time.
Yes, pine, but still real wood vs particle board.
Any broken pieces are replaced by the company quickly. I had a few cracked broken pieces with mine. They were replaced within a week.
The most important part, IMO, is to sort your hardware. All of the screws and such are in one bag. You need to sort them ahead of time because it is VERY easy to use the wrong screw in the wrong place and that will add to your frustration.
My Narrow 6+2 has been perfect for my needs and I just ordered a Wide 6+2 today.
Just like life, you get back what you put in.
Hmmm ⦠I have two of these (white, 6-drawer/Wide) that Iām using in my ākitchenetteā (basically non-existent but Iām managing).
Yes, they were a pain to assemble, but as others have suggested, sort the hardware first, and take your time. Iām a 72-year-old with some fairly severe mobility issues living in an assisted living facility, and I was able to get mine put together just fine with no breakage/splitting/etc. I found some shallow clear plastic storage trays that work to keep kitchen utensils, flatware, etc. sorted and handy.
Thank you to the people who take the time to KEEP coming out and sharing their positive experiences. I have wanted to buy a couple and the back and forth makes decision making so challenging.
The picture of the 3 together (top this page) would be nice to see on the product page. It makes it easy to see the different options.
Done. ![]()
I thought you had decided on āChubby Bottomsā instead⦠May be I misunderdtood!
Because of the way the Amazon rating algorithm works, an item can be shown as having a rating of 4.5 stars but if you view the of distribution of those stars you will find that in the case of these carts actually have 40% of the ratings being 4 stars or less. And most of the 40% percent the rating less than 5 stars complain about the itemās difficulty to build and the poor quality.
6+2 Wide showed up today and ZERO damaged pieces. Well packaged and UPS did a good job getting it to me
Iām willing to bet that there is someone out there who received the 6+2 narrow with two left sides, since mine came with two right sides. What a disappointment - was moving along with install, taking my time, but when I got to step 2 I realized something was amiss. When I was unboxing the parts I just saw two sides - so okay - itās not like they had any stickers or codes on them to differentiate them. Lets see how long it will take to get the correct part - adeptus has a website that makes it easy to order replacement parts - not sure if thatās a good thing or not. Iāll try to update this post as to how this plays out.
double check those instructions and make sure you didnāt install one upside down (aka wrong side).
