“Breathable valve for easy breathing”
If that means the valve works for INHALATION, then the mask is useless.
They aren’t useless, because theres a filter in the mask.
Don’t be impressed by the filter. Covid particles are far smaller than what a pm 2.5 filter is rated for. Any mask is better than no mask, but this won’t give you more protection than a non vented/filtered one and might give you less.
Would be helpful if you told us the fabric ALL the masks were made of.
ScottR1 is correct; the primary purpose of masks during the pandemic is to RESTRICT exhaled particles. Anything that allows for more exhalation defeats the purpose of a mask during a pandemic.
Masks with valves are NOT recommended by the CDC.
“The purpose of masks is to keep respiratory droplets from reaching others to aid with source control. Masks with one-way valves or vents allow exhaled air to be expelled out through holes in the material. This can allow exhaled respiratory droplets to reach others and potentially spread the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, CDC does not recommend using masks if they have an exhalation valve or vent.”
Masks like these that allow for easier exhalation are meant to keep particles out, such as sawdust at a worksite. Saying they’re useless is probably not completely true, but they’re certainly going to be ineffective for preventing virus transmission.
