Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 2022

Why are the minimum system requirements not listed in specs?

Not native to M1 and newer.

BEWARE

The main title says “Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements 2022”. This is a LIE. It is not Photoshop, it is Photoshop Elements.

[MOD: title has been updated. TY]

I think it’s just a sentence structure thing, where the word “Elements” applies to both of the items before it, as in, it’s the Elements version of both Photoshop and Premier. It’s not a lie, it’s just a way of writing a sentence that while possibly confusing, is technically correct.

It looks like it was changed for clarity now.

@Thunderthighs The title is a bit misleading. Could you modify it to read “Adobe Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 2022”?

Is it only in disc format? What if users don’t have an optical drive in their computers?

Wait, I need a computer for this?

Might be a silly question, but if I have an old version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0 is this worth upgrading? Not too tech savvy to know. Thanks!

Been using “Elements” since its beginning when it was a free-standing photo storage management solution.

Have skipped multiple Upgrades over the years between versions. The primary driver was using the photo management functions to secure and safeguard our many tens of thousands of digital photos, locally stored. And of course peeling off backups to separate hard drives.

Cloud storage of photos has so dramatically improved (watch out for “free” services that compress your original resolutions), it is so tempting to rely on them… however, I’m still apprehensive about relying on any single service.

Now comes this latest version of “Elements” - the gotcha for us is those system requirements. They don’t sound that stiff vs todays new PCs.

But PC hardware has matured to the point where even 2nd gen i5 cpus in the right configuration can still perform snappy for what most non-gamer users do, especially if you don’t neuter the RAM or video card and have solid state storage.

This $67 price is nice. But those requirements prevent us from jumping. And even tho we have an M1 MacBook Air, our photo library would not fit on its 512 GB drive.

Windows

  • Intel 6th Generation or newer processor or AMD equivalent with SSE4.1 support

macOS

  • Intel 6th Generation or newer processor or Apple M1 processor (Using Rosetta 2 technology)

For existing Elements users, here’s Adobe’s 2020, 21, 22, & 23 version comparison page. Note these Woot deals on the prior version seem to happen every time Adobe releases the newer version….

(Haha, Ironically, image and graphics expert Adobe’s page does not render properly on an iPhone 13!??)

Doesn’t play well on my Pixel Android phone either. Which is strange because usually when things render “weirdly” on my laptop, the m. Version of the site does better on my phone.

I agree with this question. My computer does not have an optical drive. Can we download software with this deal? Will this software work on an IPad?

Hi there. These are being pulled from Amazon inventory so we don’t have a lot of information. Here it is on Amazon:

This will not work on an iPad. The Apple app store has a version for the iPad.

If you buy this, do not be a dumba$$ like I was once upon a time and not load it on your computer right away. I had set it aside with the intent on using it and it must have been the year of bright shiny objects and I got overly distracted…when I finally did install it, it installed just fine, BUT it would not accept the license as legitimate. This was the second time this happened to me with a piece of software purchased this way thru Woot! The first time, I installed it right away and was able to return it when it didn’t work.

I found it very odd this happened not only once, let alone twice. It’s not like I was buying it from Fred’s Basement of Questionable Acquisitions (I do not have a copy-write on that name yet so feel free to use it).

Anyway, just a little fyi…

So if you go on CarFax and buy a “2019 Tesla Model 3” and get only a 2019 Tesla Model 3 cover, that’s not a lie?
