Amazon Basics EB544N Smart Oven

Amazon Basics EB544N Smart Oven

Can you buy the extended 3 year warranty from SquareTrade? I’m reading some of the reviews and a lot complain about the units failing after a year.

Right now, Woot is still working on trying to get SquareTrade working again.

(Adobe Flash and all that.)

Does this come w all accessories as the new model: probe, racks etc at all ā€˜condition’ types. So upset trying to log in and lost out on the used very good. Did get a good condition one just last time I did that on amazon w animal cages yikes! Hoping I will be happy w the used good and still can’t believe the stupid iPhone w login me out. Amyone want to shed any light on the used good condition with woot? Good or bad experience? Thank you.

I’d love to hear from a real owner who has lived with this Alexa Oven. BTW, why doesn’t Amazon call it that… or ā€œEcho Ovenā€?

We’re cynical about multifunction appliances and tools. They tend to be mediocre at everything. A Microwave function seems to prevent doing a proper convection and air fryer oven due to the safety issues. Curious which appliance company makes these for Amazon?

If food companies can develop and implement truly universal UPC-code based cooking recipes, in this convenience-obsessed society, the concept of smart appliances might make some sense. But at the price of yet more complexity in already cheaply made, difficult to repair, throw-away mentality appliances.

We’re a full on Alexa household, but already we love our existing inverter-based (varies actual power level rather than simply turning on and off full power at varied intervals to simulate power variation) Panasonic microwave oven and countertop Breville convection oven.

Amazing. I only warned Woot about SquareTrade and Flash this LAST SEPTEMBER.

And I was telling the teams since at least February 2020. What do you do?

You should be skeptical about multi-use products like this… According to this review it’s inferior in every way to a more typical ā€œdumbā€ microwave or air fryer.

Does it get the food out of the freezer and put it in the oven? Cause that’s what I need. Does it do the shopping and meal planning? That would be a bonus. Does it do dishes?

I think I’m going to pass. It seems like most of the serious complaints are coming from 1+ year old users who hare having the units go bad and no longer under warranty. That would be awful for a $149 product, but these people paid $249-$350 for it! Meanwhile, my $30 1000w microwave I bought from a pawn shop a decade ago is still working just as well as it did from day 1. Well aside from some bubbling paint inside where my kids didn’t take good care of it, but it isn’t anything that some sandpaper and a $10 bottle of microwave-grade enamel won’t fix. Was just looking at this because my whole family went nuts on Alexa Dot devices this Christmas (and, to think, 15 years ago they laughed at me for wanting to wire up a custom whole-house intercom system).

I have read a lot of reviews by tech reviewers and I rarely, rarely use this word hated this microwave. Apparently it is huge (takes up a ton of counter space), hard to get working, took more time than the oven, etc. and these were people who try tech stuff for a living
