Amazon Basics Thunderbolt 4 Pro Docking Station

Amazon Basics Thunderbolt 4 Pro Docking Station

Don’t know much about this particular model, but a docking station with these specs is usually MUCH more expensive!

When this was first released on Amazon a little over a year ago, it sold for $219.95. Around December of last year dropped to about $140. Just recently dropped to approx $68.
With that pricing history, $35 is great! Look at any other docks with these specs, it’s probably over $100.

Looking forward to testing this out when it arrives!

This right here is why I use woot. Absolutely insane deal. Good luck finding a comparable dock for anything remotely close to this price.

I literally just bought this on Amazon for $70 the other day. That was already a good deal but this is crazy. I got it for my M4 Macbook Pro and it’s working as expected so far. It’s literally just a more expensive Kensington thunderbolt dock with the color changed for Amazon if anyone’s wondering who made it.

I’m very tempted. I just wish it has 2 HDMI outputs.

Wonder if it’s why it’s price is so low. That being said, I’m sure they have a USB to HDMI adapter somewhere on here or tons of them available on Amazon. I’m not sure if there would be a concern about if it could handle it or not.

It looks like this only has one upstream port. So I can’t connect to a PC and an laptop, I would need to swap the thunderbolt cable. As a Dock Noob, can someone confirm?

well that solves that. :upside_down_face:

This is the second time they’ve been offered in the past month or so at this price, so hopefully they’ll be around again soon!

I’m using a USB C to HDMI adapter between the dock and my monitor for the second external display and it’s working perfectly and at higher refresh rates than 60hz. The HDMI port on mine works without issue as well for the other external display.

No, I don’t think that’s why the price is so low. It’s low because Thunderbolt 5 is out now so the old Thunderbolt 4 stuff is being closed out.

A USB to HDMI adapter may work in many cases depending on what you’re doing, but it’s not the same. Particularly for gaming, it may not provide the best experience.

Just got mine in, very solid build quality. Connects to my m3 MacBook Pro without issue. The Ethernet port is rated for 2.5Gbps but I’m getting <1Gbps on a 2.5 Gig link. So if you want this for the Ethernet port you’ll be disappointed. Other than that, this thing rocks, especially for the price.
