Perhaps not surprising Woot ended up with a crap-ton of these used Amazon 2nd gen Echo Dots, since they are a cheap way to trade-in to get you 25% off a much more expensive new Echo device at Woot mother Amazon.
Tempting to buy a few to… send them around the Amazon to Woot loop again! One wonders how many have already done that loop at least once? (But be sure to immediately open it up and test it since Amazon trade-in requires it be working. Amazon Used (which these are) is shaky and wildly inconsistent as to the condition of the devices.)

Actually, the 2nd gen Echo Dot is not a bad device. Its only deficiency is a too small amplifier - so it does not play as loud as subsequent gen Echo Dots.
-
But on the plus side, that smaller amp means it is powered by the very standard MicroUSB port so you can power it off a standard USB port, perhaps on your power strip or dedicated USB a power stand, rather than the later gen Echo Dots’ big honking proprietary wall wart and proprietary power jack. (In fairness, the odd globular 4th Gen Dot’s still proprietary wall wart is a bit slimmer than the 3rd gen). That MicroUSB port also means you can easily make it portable by powering it with a USB battery bank.
-
This 2nd gen Echo Dot is also a cheap way to add Alexa to any stereo/AVR receiver via the standard 3.5mm-1/8” audio output port or via its built in Bluetooth. In this use case, the smaller amp matters not.

Or, an easy to clean, since it is all plastic, with no fabric solution for adding Alexa to a shop or garage.
